To become an IPS officer rather to appear for IPS exam , your age must be 21 years minimum and maximum age is 30 years if you belong to General category ,

For OBC : 21- 33 years

For SC/ST : 21-35 years .

The attempts are also different according to categories and theses are :

For General : 4 attempts

For OBC : 7 Attempts

For Sc /ST : No limits .

The candidates should have minimum age limit of 21 years
Maximum age limit of the GM candidates - 30 years
The Maximum age limit for the Sc/St candidates - 35 years
The Ph candidates - 40 years

The candidates must have these age limits. In addition to this you must have remaining requirement of the IPS also.
