Re: What are the basic requirements to appear in UPSC? What is the scope for a M.Sc(Chemistry) graduate in UPSC?

upsc conducted many examination in a year for the jobs in the government sector.
    the examinations like

    Special Class Railway Apprentice Exam
National Defense Academy and Naval Academy Examination (NDA/NA)

are 12th based examination conducted by upsc .
the age limit for the NDA exam is 16.5 to 19 years while
for the SCRA exam the age limit is 17 to 21 years .

as your are a M.Sc(chemistry) aspirant you should apply for the upsc examination such as
    the civil services examination
    central police forces examination
    combined defense services examination

for these examinations the basic educational requirement is graduation in any subjects
so you are fully eligible to apply for these examinations .
the age limit to apply for the upsc civil services examination is 21-30 years
the age limit for the upsc central police forces examination is 19-25 years
the age limit for the upsc combined defense services examination is 19-25 years

for these examination the sc/st,obc ,physically handicap aspirants are prior to get age relaxation.
age relaxation is of 3 years for the OBC aspirants
age relaxation is of 5 years for the SC/ST aspirants
age relaxation is of 10 years for the physically handicap aspirants .

for these examination final year aspirants are also eligible to apply.
in my view you should apply for the upsc civil services examination.
this examination fall in the creamy layer of the examinations conducted by upsc
and needs a lot of hard work to crack.
