To become a IPS officer you need to write the IPS exam which is being conducted by UPSC and is held every year.
This exam selects candidates in 2 stages:
> CSAT Exam
> Interview
As having a qualification of completed B.com which is a UG course you are eligible for applying for the exam as regarding the education qualification for the exam.
There are certain other criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order to apply for the IPS exam and they are:
You need to be a citizen of India
The age limit needed for applying is that the candidate must have 21-30 years for General Category candidates
For other category candidates there are certain amount of relaxation.
Education qualification needed for the exam is that the candidate must have completed a degree from a recognized university and you need to have got a fair percentage in your degree.
You need to be physically fit as it is also important.

as looking you have a keen desire to go for Ips examination than you have to apply for it .
the notification for the examination is released in the month of January or February and the exam is held in the month of may/June.
to become an ips officer you have to apply for it , and there is only online mode of application is accepted by upsc.
because no other mode of application is accepted .
but first you should check the eligibility criteria and the age criteria that you are eligible for the exam or not.

You should apply in UPSC exam because you now completed your graduation. Also for preparation you can join any coaching center or you can do it by your own efforts.
You should first download the previous years questions of upsc ips exam in www.upsc.gov.in, by this you can see the question pattern. After that you have to start your preparation. You should read newspapers for current events or buy a G.K. Book for it. You should first choose subjects in ips mains exam, if you join any coaching then they will guide for it.
