You have to apply for Civil Services Examination Since Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.
The Eligibility Criteria to Appear for Civil Services Examination are as follows:
--> The candidate should have a degree in any discipline from university recognized by UGC.
--> The candidate should be Indian.
--> The candidate age should be more than 21 years and less than 30 years. There are relaxations as 3 years for OBC, 5 years for SC/ST and 10 years for PH category.
--> The maximum number of attempts is 4 times for general category, 7 times for OBC, PH category and there is no limit for SC/ST category.

Friend, IPS means Indian Police Service. To become an IPS Officer, candidate have to compulsorily appear for Civil Service Examination. As Civil Service Examination offer ideal platform for prestigious posts like IAS Officer, IPS Officer etc.You are required to have any bachelor degree in any discipline. Also in this exam if you clear all the three stages of the slection procedure than your ranking in the merit list should be high so that you are alloted the IPS department
Eligibilty to apply is:
Education-Bachelors degree Pass in any stream
Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
Maximum age for OBC candidates to apply is 33 years and for the SC/ST candidates is 35 years
Attempts- UPSC has also put a cap on number of times you can give this exams and it is 4 for General category candidates, 7 for OBC candidates and no such restrictions for SC/ST candidates
Physical Requirements for IPS
Vision
6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye.
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
You should not be suffering from color or night blindness.
Height
Male - 165 cm for General/SC/OBC candidate and minimum of 160 cm ST.
Female - 150 cm OBC/SC/General candidate and 145 cm ST.
