What and how should be my strategy to get qualified in IES exam? Should I prepare from books to understand the topics thoroughly or read institutes notes for quick preparation?

    Hi guys,

Here's a little something about me before I shoot my question.

I completed my B.E.4 years back in 2009 with Electronics and Communication Engineering, it got selected in a Software MNC in 2010, I worked there for 2.5 years but didn't get to use any of my knowledge of Engineering there (Being working in a Software industry which actually is not a place for an EC Engineer), I realized it isn't the place for me. so, I decided to move out of there and do something what I was meant to do. I left there and decided to prepare for ES examination.
Now keeping the fact in mind that completing Engineering 4 years ago and working for almost 3 years in IT, I mostly lost my subject knowledge, I realized that when I joined an institute for ES preparation as I was hardly able to recollect some topics while it was being taught in the coaching but I am not down by that bcz I knew this was going to happen and now I'm sure for what I want to do and I choose ES over IT.

So, my question here is, keeping all the above things in mind, how and what should be my strategy to qualify ES like how should i prepare, should I read from books to understand the topics thoroughly or read institute notes for quick preparation, keeping my background in mind can I qualify the 2014 ES if i prepare only the notes (notes wont be the detailed explanation of the topics) or should i target 2015 ES Examination?

    Please guide me...
    Thanks

To get qualified in IES examination you need to be dedicated towards the goal as if you are not dedicated then you will loose interest to qualify the examination.
So that interest to qualify the examination should always be in your mind so that you will be able to make it.
You need to study hard as it requires the full preperation, for preperation you need to take the coaching classes as they have all the related data with them to make the person to qualify the examination.
So you must have to go to the institutes to qualify the examination very well.
You also need to make your own notes to qualify the exam, try to make the notes of those things which you do not understand because by doing that you will make the weakness into your strength.
Its always good to make the small charts for the important things and stick it in your bedroom wall.
By that you will always be aware of all the related topics that you need to prepare.
You need to read the english newspaper for the general studies because that all comes from the current affairs.

    Thank you.

    Hi Vihsdia
Thanks for the reply, I'd like to ask one more thing
How much time usually it takes for someone like me to qualify this exam. (Having completed graduation 4 years ago)?

    Thanks
