    Hello Friend,

The maximum age limit is 30 yrs. A candidate must not already reach 30 yrs of age on 1 Aug of the year of exam. So, if you were born before 1 Aug' 1983, you aren't eligible to appear in CSE 2013.

    Thanks,
    goyalk

Re: What is the maximum age limit for Open category candidates in UPSC exam?

    * Age limit is a very important factor or criteria in UPSC exams..!

    * Open category generally has no relaxations of age like BC , SC and ST...!

    * Your age limit to appear for UPSC civil services exam is 21 to 30 years of age.!

    * Therefore the maximum age limit for you to appear is nothing but thirty (30) years of age!

    * If you cross 30 years of age , then you will not be able to appear for civil services exam..!

    * Incase if you are an open category physically challenged candidate like deaf, dumb, handicapped ,etc.. then you have an upper age limit relaxation of upto 10 years!

    * For physically handicapped candidates, the age limit is 21 to 40 years..!

    Criteria/caste OC BC SC ST
    Age 21-30 21-33 21-35 21-35
For physically challenged people it is 21 to 40 years of age

    * Apart from age restrictions, you can also make only 4 attempts as the maximum in open category!

    * You must be a graduate and a citizen of India too to appear in UPSC!

    * You can apply for the exam online at www.upsconline.nic.in

UPSC board conduct various exams and the age limit is also different for each exam and most of the exams as - IAS, IPS, IFoS, Geologist, IES, IES/ISS etc. the age limit is same which is following :

Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in any discipline to apply for UPSC Civil Services Exams

Number of Attempts for every category candidates :

General Category candidates - 4 times

    ================================================

    Hi,

According to the eligibility criteria, the candidate must be in the age group of 21-30 years.
But for the Open category, the upper age limit has been given a relaxation of 5 years.
Hence for you the upper age limit is 35 years.

Best of Luck for the future!
