What is the procedure to do IRS?

I like to do IRS. But I didnot know about procedure. Pl. Guide me. I am studing in B.E. 7th semistar at LDRP College, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

IRS stands for Indian Revenue Service. The candidates for this post are recruited through Civil Services Examination. You just have to satisfy the basic eligibility criteria to appear for the Civil Services Exam.

Exam Format of Civil Services Examination
The Civil Services Exam is a paper based test and consists of two successive stages:

1. Preliminary Examination� comprising 2 exams � General Studies and CSAT
2. Civil Services Main Examination (Written and Interview)

The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university. Final year degree students are also eligible
The age limit is 21-30 yrs
The maximum number of attempts for General category is 4
The candidate should be Indian

IRS (Indian Revenue service) is the most respective officer of civil service.
Eligibility:
Educational qualification:
1.The candidate must have posses the Bachelor degree in any dicipline in any Recognized university of India.
2.Those in final year is also apply for the exam.
Age:
1.for general minimum age 21year and maximum 30 year at the time of examination.
2.upper age relaxed will be 3 year for OBC & 5 year for SC/ST candidates.
3.The age relaxation is in favour of Defence service personnel.
Other eligibility:
the candidate should be a citizen of India.
The exam procedure to do IRS:
First the aspirant has to procure the application form along with the information brochure from any post office/head post office spread all over the country & sent the filled application form to the secretary of union public service commission.
The details of the examination published in the month of december in the "Employment News","Rozgar samachar","Gazette of India" & some leading newspapers of the country.
then in month of May/June the aspirant have to take the preliminary exam consist of 2 papers.
1.general studies(150 marks)
2.optional paper(300 marks)
this exam is just a qualifying exam.after that the final exam is held in normally month of october.
Once you are qualified the test the final stage is interview to test their personality & mental ability.
Then the candidate who have scored good rank go for training.after training they are posted as per recruitment of the central & state Govt. police&Investigation organization.

IRS stands for the Indian Revenue services.Lots of students are confused that there is a separate exam for this services. But it the civil services examinations which is held to join the services by the UPSC every year.

Friend ,after clearing the civil services examinations ,it totally depends your rank that which services which will be alloted to you that is IPS,IFS,IAS,IRS .

Civil services examinations is conducted in three stages and bachelor's degree is the minimum educational qualifications required for this examinations.Your age should be between 21-30 years and relaxations of three year to obc and five years to the sc/st respectively.

The different stages of examinations are :

The first stage if preliminary test if you clear this examination ,you will have to give the second stage that is main examinations.After clearing both you will have to give personal interview that is the last stage of this examinations.
