Indian Accounts and Audit officer comes under one of the 24 posts in Indian civil service. So you have to clear civil service exam for IAAS.
The recruitment process is of three stages- preliminary exam, written, interview
ELigibility criteria:
(1)Age:
21- 30 years as on 1st august of th year you are applying for general candidates
for OBC- upper age is relaxable by 3 years
for SC/ST upper age is relaxable by 5 years
(2) number of attempts:
4 for general category
7 for OBC
no limits for Sc/ST
(3) Educational qualification:
bachelor's degree from any recognised university. Final year students can also apply, provided they submit proof for passing the degree at the time of appearing for mains exam
Scheme of the exam
THe preliminary exam is of objective type with 2 papers
paper 1: general studies:
duration 2 hours
maximum marks: 200
number of questions: 100
penalty for wrong answer:2/3 marks
paper 2: CSAT
uration 2 hours
maximum marks: 200
number of questions: 80
penalty for wrong answer:2.5/3 marks
the marks scored in preliminary is of qualifying nature only. the marks are not carried forward to final merit list
The main exam, is of descriptive type consists of following:
1) general studies - 2 papers- 300 marks each
2) the candidate have to choose 2 optional subjects from the list of allowed subjects. each subject has 2 papers and each paper 300 marks
3) one essay paper 200 marks
total: 2000 marks
apart from this candidates have to pass in one English language paper and an Indian Language paper. the marks scored in language paper, are qualifying nature only
Personal Interview : 300 marks
final merit list is prepared (2000+ 300) based on rank secured and preference given by the candidates service is alloted
