Re: What are the suitable UPSC exams for Civil Engineering graduates?

Dear there are various exams for graduates and you are Engineering graduate with civil branch so I would like to inform you that you can apply for any of the following competitive exam under UPSC

    Indian Engineering Service
    Indian Forest Service
    Indian Civil Service
    Combined Defense Service
Central Police Force - Assistant Commandant Examination

But before getting any examination, you need to decide anyone on your own interest because you may do better in that subject which is really interesting for you that is why you should prefer any one of the above mentioned and get prepared for examination

If you like your own stream that is Engineering and wants to study further by getting knowledge of the same subject then you should choose IES - Indian Engineering Service Examination because it demands in depth study of particular subject from any one of the - Civil/ Electrical/ E & T/ Mechanical Engineering because complete examination depends only one on subject so when you will start preparing for this exam so you will study for the same subject again but that study may be something different from your graduation level so you will be back on the same track that you have left after completing engineering but this study will give you more knowledge about Civil Engineering so that should be your passion because competition is not easy and you will have to study like a competitor not being an Engineer

Once you must think about this job because if you get selected by the grace of god and your hardworking then you will get higher rank in engineering field and first of all will be a central government and national engineering employee who will be responsible for various fields of engineering run by central government of India and cover a big part of that field and your rank will be higher because officers selected by UPSC board are always for higher and highest ranks so you do not need to worry about your career and there are more chances to grow in career through promotion and hikes

If you do not wants to enter in Engineering field then you can go for Indian Civil Service Examination which gives you IFS -Indian Foreign Service, IAS - Indian Administrative Service, IPS - Indian Police Service etc. highest rank in India and most of the competitors are fights for ICS examination because they wants to become an IAS officer to do something huge in their life for the country so this may also be a right way for you

You can also enter in defense service through CDS - Combined Defense Service and may join any one of the - IMA - Indian Military Academy, INA - Indian Naval Academy, AFA - Air Force Academy according to your interest

You can prefer Forest Service that is also a big part of the management of India and may provide your service to the forest department by being an IFoS Officer or there is one more way for you that is under Police Department - Central Police Force - Assistant Commandant that will be a leader of a huge central police force so you just have to take your career to a right way because I have suggested you more ways to get your career started and none of the above is wrong way for you so first look into yourself and find out your interest

For more details, you can visit at www.upsc.gov.in
