lets first we talk about the CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION .

REQUIREMENTS:-

1. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE INDIAN.

2. THE CANDIDATE MUST BE A GRADUATE.

AGE :- 21-30 YRS,AND AGE RELAXATIONS ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO SC/ST AND OBC ACCORDING TO GOVT NORMS.

now talking about the ENGINEERING SERVICES EXAMINATION.

ALL THE CRITERIA ARE SAME FOR IT ALSO BUT THERE IS ONLY A RESTRICTION.

and the restriction is that ,whether you are belongs to any engineering branch but you have to give the examination in one of the following branches .

the branches are

1. civil engineering .

2. mechanical engineering,

3. electrical engineering.

4. electronics and telecommunication engineering engineering.



so if you wish to apply for any of the examination than you have to apply online for all the examination because there is no any other mode of application is accepted by upsc .

UPSC conducts large number of entrance examinations which are gateway to different governmental departments .After clearing the entrance which you desire you will be able to join the respective department.

As you have mentioned that right now your are in seventh semester ,you will eligible for the entrance examination from the next semesters.

The best UPSC entrance exam for you will be Indian Engineering services .Being a civil engineer you can give the exam in civil engineering stream also.

The age limit is 21-30 years and relaxation of three years to obc and five years to sc/st in upper age limit respectively.

Examination pattern:

Other than this you are also eligible for the following UPSC exams:

>>Civil services examination: Age limit same as IES

>>Combined defense services :19-25 years

>>Central Armed Police force:20-25 years

>>Indian Forest services.

If you are interested in working in Public sector undertakings like NTPC,BHEL,SAIL,GAIL,ONGC,IOCL etc,you may aim to crack the Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering conducted by IISC+IIT.

OR if in banks then go for the :

>>IBPS common written exam

>>SBI entrance exams.

You can apply for Engineering Services exam which is conducted by UPSC every year. This is a very reputed exam and if you want to join as an Engineering Officer in Central Government then apply for this exam.

After completion of Civil Engineering you can apply for this exam.

Age Limit for Engineering Services Exam:

General Category : 21 to 30 years

OBC Category : 21 to 33 years

SC/ST Category : 21 to 35 years

Selection Procedure:

The merit is prepared on the basis of written exam and interview.

You must have very good knowledge of you Engineering discipline because the questions in the written exam will be related to you field of Engineering.

You can also apply for other examinations like CDS exam for joining as officer in Indian Defence.
