Since you are from IIT's & IIM's you must have good depth of knowledge of the related subjects which will help you in scoring.
You will not find any sort of benefits like direct selection in interview or any other favours.
You have to appear for the exams & clear cut-offs like other students.
If you are selected for the interview there your certificate from IITs or IIMs may have an impact on the interviewer.
But still do not expect any leniency from the interviewer during interview.
They will treat you equally as others
They will check you on your Awareness and concern for socio-economic problems,
ranges and depth of interests and personal
Not only for intelligence but also overall personality development, Attentiveness, Balance of judgment and Qualities of honesty, integrity and leadership.
So prepare well for the exams.
dear friend,
There is no extra benefit for IIT's and IIM's students. For UPSC exams all are considered same.
Eligibility Criteria and paper pattern is same.
for getting selected in various government posts through UPSC exams you have to compete with other candidates from various other colleges and university.
selection is purely made on the basis of rank and in ranking there is no matter that you are from IIM/IIT or other university/college.
Good Luck....
