Age Limit for candidates according to category is:

Category Age Limit
1. General 21 years to 30 years
2. OBC 21 years to 33 years
3. SC/ST 21 years to 35 years


but as you are 35+ you are not Eligible to apply for UPSC exams.

Dear Aspirant;

The maximum age limit prescribed by the Govt. for applying to Govt. sector posts is as follows :-

18-28 for General Category

18-31 for OBC Category

18-33 for SC-ST Category

18-38 for Ex-servicemen

Hence, from the above, if you belongs to Ex-servicemen category then only you will be eligible

there is no any govt job for 35+ candidates in upsc because the age criteria for upsc is as under.

* for general- 21-30 years.

* for obc -21-33 yeras.

* for sc/st - 21-35 years.

and there is an age relaxation of 5 years for ex-service man .


so if you are an e serviceman only than you are eligible .

if you are ex-service man then you have the chance to give the civil service exam two or three times. if you are not ex-service man then you are not eligible for the government job.

because cds exam maximum age limit 25 years.
civil service exam maximum age limit for the general category is 30 years and for the reserve category 35 years.

There is no government jobs for anyone through UPSC after having crossed the age limit of 35 years.

The maximum age limit is 32 years in case of combined medical services and 35 for civil services incase of sc/st category.

I would like to suggest you one thing that if you want to take governement jon than you can give NET exams for the lectureship post .

NET stands for the Natioanl Eligibility test.

It is conducted by Univeristy grants commission every year.

The eligibility criteria is :

>>Post graduation in any stream from a recognised university with minimum 55 % if marks in it.

>>Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

For lectureship there is no upper age limit.
