    Yes absolutely B.Tech metallurgy students are eligible for IAS Exam. You have to apply for Civil Services Examination.
    Civil Services Examination is conducted by UPSC every year for the recruitment of candidates for the post of IAS, IRS, IPS.

    The basic eligibility criteria for Civil Services Exam are as follows:
    Educational Qualification
    The candidate must hold any degree in any discipline from any recognized university
    Final year degree students are also eligible
    Degree obtained by distance education/open university is also eligible if the university is a recognized university

    Age limit
    General 21-30 yrs
    SC/ST 21-35 yrs
    OBC 21-33 yrs
    PH 21-40 yrs

    Number of attempts permitted
    General 4
    OBC 7
    PH 7
    SC/ST No Limit

    Nationality should be Indian.

    For sitting in the IAS exam,a candidate must be a graduate and must hold a degree.
    Hence B.Tech in Metallurgy is a degree course.
    Therefore you can give the exam given that you fulfill the age criteria as well.

    Yes of course you are eligible to apply to UPSC Civil Services Exam(CSE)being B.Tech(metallurgy).
    UPSC CSE is one of the toughest and most competitive exam at the All India Level.
    CSE is conducted by
    UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.
    After clearing
    CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc based on your rank in the Final Merit list.

    Eligibility For CSE :


    Age Limit :
    General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam
    OBC-21-33yrs

    SC/ST-21-35yrs


    Educational Qualification :
    Minimum educational qualification to appear in the CSE is,
    A Bachelors Degree
    in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognised University.
    Final year
    appeared/appearing candidates can also apply provisionally.
    Percentage scored in the graduation is not a criteria,one needs a Passing percentage in graduation only.


    Attempts :
    General Category-4 times
    OBC-7 times

    SC/ST-Unlimited times


    You can apply to UPSC CSE if you meet the above eligibility criteria.
    CSE 2013 Exam notification is expected on 02.02.2013 and Prelims/CSAT exam will be held on 19.05.2013.

    IAS stands for the Indian Administrative Services.To be eligible for the civil services examinations ,you must fulfill the given criteria;

    1.You should have bachelo'rs degree in any stream from a recognised university.Even if you are in final year of graduation you can apply for the examinations.

    Note: Since you have done bachelor of technology in metallurgical engineering ,you are eligible in terms of academic qualifications.Now you should fulfill the age criteria:

    3.You must be an Indian citizen.

    If you fulfill all the three criteria then you are eligible for the civil services examinations.

    The no of attempts for civil services examinations is category based and is

    Yes definitely a B-tech metallurgy student are fully eligible for IAS exam. so you can appl6y for this exam. IAS exam is also knwn as CSAT exam means
    CIVIL SERVICES APTITUDE TEST
    CSAT exam is conducted by UPSC
    UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION.

    Eligibility Criteria
    should be graduate from a recognized university Subject or Stream in graduation doesn't matter for this exam
    (marks or percentage doesn't matter)


    candidate should be Indian

    age of the candidate is 21 to 30 year,
    3year age relaxation for OBC and 5 year relaxation for SC/ST candidate

    To become an IAS officer you would be crack Civil Service Exam which is conducted by UPSC every year

    You are eligible for the exam, B.Tech metallurgy student also eligible for the exam
    Because the upsc requirement the candidate must have graduate in any stream from the approved university.
    So don�t worry you are eligible for the exam.
    The age limit for the exam is the 21 to 30 years for the unreserved category, age relaxation for the reserved category.
    Attempt of the exam for the unreserved category is the 4 times.
    The exam notification is declared by the upsc in the month of the february-2013.
    Preliminary exam is held in the month of the May and mains exam held in the month of the October

    Yes friend , Student who have completed B. Tech from any branch are eligible to apply for the Civil Service exam.

    Civil Service exam is organized for the IAS posts by the Union Public Service Commission.

    This exam is conducted once in a year.


    Eligibility criteria for the Civil service exam

    You must have graduation in any discipline from recognized university or its equivalent.

    You can also apply in final year of graduation.

    Your age should be between 21 to 30 years.

    Age relaxation to eligible categories

    SC/ST + 5 years

    OBC + 3 years

    PH + 10 years

    You must be the citizen of India.

    Eligibility Criteria to apply for UPSC IAS Exam :

    A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and if you are pursuing final year of your degree or awaited for final year result then also you can apply for this exam

    Age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    You can definitely apply for this examination and the dates are following for upcoming UPSC IAS exam

    Application form start date - 02-02-2013

    Application form last date - 04-03-2013

    UPSC civil service exam date - 19-05-2013

    If you are a new student who is entering in the civil services exams then you need to read the following basic details about this examination conducted by UPSC board :

    Examination Pattern for Civil Services Examination 2013 :

    Preliminary exam : This is an objective type paper in which you have to get qualified in two papers and each paper has 200 marks

    # The should complete graduation from the recognized college or University

    Nationality

    # The Only Indian candidates are eligible for the IAS exam and The candidates belongs to the Bhutan , Nepal etc. such candidates are not eligible for the exam.

    Age limit

    # The candidates have to attain the minimum age limit of 21 years
    # The Maximum age limit for the candidates belongs o the General category � 33 years

    IAS exam is conducted by UPSC through Civil Service Exam .

    IAS exam require graduation degree from recognized university but not require any percentage marks .Final year candidate are also applicable for IAS exam.

    Hello friend,

    You are eligible for civil service exam conducted by UPSC on national basis and minimum qualification for this exam is graduation and no matter in which stream you have done.

    Age: 21 to 30 years for general candidates, 21 to 33 for OBC candidates, 21 to 35 years for SC/ST candidates

    And one thing always remember that UPSC allows 4 times (General candidate), 7 times (OBC) and there are not any limit for SC/ST candidates for giving this exam.

    Yes ,you are eligible civil services examination.

    It does not matter that in which field you are completing your graduation.

    Every graduate are eligible for civil services examination and also can apply in last year of graduation.

    Candidate must be under 21-30 years.
    3 years age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 years age relaxation for SC/ST candidate.

    Candidate must be Indian Civilization.

    hey friend,
    first I want to tell you that every graduation student eligible for the IAS exam.
    If he or she completed his or her graduation with 54% min. marks.
    So if you completed your graduation with 54% min. marks.
    Then you can apply for this xam .
    But you will face only one problem in IAS exam.
    That is your subject . you will have to choose two subject from the IAS exam subject list.
    Then you can apply .

    The answer to your question is a big YES. Any graduate can apply for this exam if they have a minimum percentage of 54 and more.

    Yes dear
    The B.Tech metallurgy students are aldo eligible of giving the IAS exam, because the educational criteria for giving the IAS exam is, that you need to be a graduate in any stream from a recognized indian university.
    Moreover, the age criteria says that your age should not be less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.
    A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc/st category students respectively.
