Which branch should I take while joining in engineering course keeping IAS exam in mind? What all branches are having place in the optional list for Mains?

i am taking admission in btech this year and after it preparing for upsc. please advice which branch should i take.can i take cse branch. please tell which branches are in mains (optional)

Dear Aspirant

In mains examination only three core branches from engineering side are provided as optional paper.They are Civil Engineering,Electrical engineering and Mechanical Engineering.You may take any one of these branch if you wish to give UPSC.

Computer Science and Engineering is not listed in optional provided by UPSC but if you have interest in computer science and engineering then take that branch.For civil service examination you may take other optional and prepare for it later on.
