As you are a electrical engineer so why you are asking for any other subject.
You can go for UPSC with your own subject. that is Electrical Engineering.
Electrical Engineering is one of the Core branch and you can seat with your
branch.
One thing more that is you did not mention about which UPSC examination.
I Thing you are asking about either IAS or IES. If you are asking about IES
then there is only four engineering branch that will allow to seat in IES exam.
That branch is Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering
and Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering. As your branch is Electrical
so you are also eligible for it.
dear
firstly i would suggest you to go with your subjects only
however if you are less confident in one or the other subject then only you should take your strong subject instead of that one
thank you
There are lots of exams taken by the UPSC but you didn't mention the name of which exam you want to give .
Suppose you talk about Civil Service Exam .
In CSE exam there are three rounds .
1) Preliminary exam
2) Main exam
3) interview
Preliminary exam consists two papers .
1) General study
2) CSAT
Main exam consists 9 descriptive type papers .
In that papers four are optional subject papers for which one have to select any two optional subjects from the below list.
Agriculture
Management
Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science
Mathematics
Anthropology
Mechanical Engineering
Botany
Medical Science
Chemistry
Philosophy
Civil Engineering
Physics
Commerce & Accountancy
Political Science & International Relations
Economics
Psychology
Electrical Engineering
Public Administration
Geography
Sociology
Geology
Statistics
Indian History
Law
Zoology
As you are a Electrical engineer so that Electric Engineering is one of your optional subject because you already studied the electric engineering so that you aware most of the subjects related to electric engineering .
Now for second optional subject , you may either select maths or select the subject in which you are interested for example history , geography .
If you are in weak in maths then history is a good subject for you to select as a optional subject .
But if you are strong in maths then you should take the maths as your optional subject because you already studied all the maths in your engineering so it will not difficult for you .
So please take care while choosing the subjects and start the preparation once the subjects are selected .
good luck

dear friend,
according to my view points you must choose Mathematics and Electrical Engineering as your optional subjects for UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam.
This is because you are from electrical Engineering and you should have Good knowledge of these subjects. These are your core subjects.
so, it will be easy for you for the preparation of exam and you would easily get higher ranks.
Good Luck.......
