Re: Can a diploma(IT) holder apply for UPSC, MPSC , IAS, IPS exams?

No my friend , you are not eligible for the UPSC , MPSC exams because the minimum education qualification required is graduation from any recognized university from any stream .
A diploma holder can't eligible untill he/she complete the graduation or in the final year of graduation .
So it is better for you to complete the graduation first then give the exam but till you can prepare for the exam .

Because the criteria for the UPSC exam and MPSC exam is below :

    Education criteria :
-> one should done their graduation from any recognized university .
-> A final year student also eligible for the exam but before the main exam one have to complete the graduation .

    Age limit :
    For general 21-30
    For obc 21-33
    For SC/ST 21-35
    For Ex-serviceman 21-35
    For Physically handicapped 21-35

So you first complete the graduation then start giving the exam .

    good luck

    Dear,
The essential qualification for the UPSC CSAT (IAS,IPS etc.) is to pass or appear the final year of Bachelors degree in any stream at any recognized University. But the Diploma course is not a Bachelor degree course, so you have to qualify the B.Tech for appearing the above said examination. The age limit for the examination must be within 21-30years. So keeping eyes on it, try for it. Best of luck

For these exams minimum educational qualification is graduation i.e. A recognized degree. If you have no degree and your diploma is not equivalent to a degree then you are not eligible.

Diploma holder are not eligible to apply for Union Public Service Examination . So if you are interested to apply for UPSC examination then you have to completed Intermediate course OR graduate degree with any desire subjects .

If you are completed intermediate(12th) course then you can apply for NDA exam through UPSC examination . NDA Exam conducts for Army wings , Navy wings and Air force wings . Those who have passed 12th with Physics and Mathematics as subjects then the candidates are eligible to apply for Navy / Air force .

Commerce Stream OR Other Stream candidates are eligible to apply for Army wings examination .

If you want to apply for IAS OR IPS Examination then you should have a compulsory graduate degree with any desire subjects and No minimum marks required . You must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years . Upper age limits is applicable .

So according to your qualification , you are not eligible to apply for IAS and IPS examination . So first complete graduate degree then apply for UPSC exams .

Re: Can a diploma(IT) holder apply for UPSC, MPSC , IAS, IPS exams?

    Hi dear

Sorry for you, but you can not apply for UPSC and MPSC Exams which require a graduation degree as minimum academic eligibility.

Diploma courses are considered as 10+2 equivalent.

So you can apply for the Exams which require a 10+2 equivalent academic qualification.

However the Eligibility criteria for the Civil Services Exam is:

    Nationality: Indian
    Academic Eligibility:
A degree from a recognised University or equivalent.
    Age limit: 21-30 years

So you can not apply for the Civil Services Exam unless you are a graduate.

Re: Can a diploma(IT) holder apply for UPSC, MPSC , IAS, IPS exams?

    Hi Friend!

First, you need to know what is UPSC.

UPSC is Union Public Service Commission which conducts many exams in which Civil Service Exam(CSE) is one of them.

CSE has a misnomer as 'IAS exam' or 'UPSC exam'.

After clearing CSE, then you'll be recruited as IAS or IPS.

So you need to write only one exam of both IPS or IAS.

And the qualifications for the CSE are :

    Educational: Graduation

    Age: General : 21-30yrs, OBC:21-33yrs, SC/ST : 21-35yrs

Note: there is a considerable age relaxation for special category like Blind, Deaf-Mute, etc.

    Number of attempts: General : 4, OBC : 7, SC/ST : unlimited

So you need graduation to write this CSE.

Diploma is considered as 10+3 which is not equivalent to degree. On this basis, You're not eligible to write CSE.

But you can write NDA, SCRA exams.

You can have all the details abot the CSE at http://www.upsc.gov.in/

    I WISH YOU ALL SUCCESS!
