You can give CDS exam if you are graduate from a recognized university.

NDA exam as well as CDS exam is conducted by UPSC twice in a year.

CDS exam is conducted to join;-

Indian military academy

Navel academy

Air force academy

Officer training academy

Eligibility;-

--You must be passed a bachelor degree from a Indian RECOGNIZED university

science subject for navy as well as air force

any stream for army wing

Age limits;-

19-22 years for air force

19-23 years for navy

19-24 years for army

19-25 years for OTA exam

NDA exams are given after passing class 12th.
Maximum age to apply to the NDA exams is 19 years
No age relaxations is given to any category of candidates.

But if you want to apply for the CDS exams than you need to fulfill the below eligibity criteria:

Educational Qualifications:Indian Airforce- Bachelors Degree pass in any stream and Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH pass
Indian Navy - BE/BTECH pass
Indian Military Academy IMA - Bachelors Degree Pass in any Stream
Officers Training Academy OTA - Graduation Pass in any Stream

Age for applying to this exams are:
IMA- Minimum 19 years and Maximum 24 years
OTA Minimum 19 years and Maximum 25 years
Navy - Minimum 19 years and Maximum 22 years
Airforce - Minimum 19 years and Maximum 23 years

In the CDS exams Females are allowed to apply for the OTA wing only while Male candidates can apply to all the wings

Eligibility for UPSC Combined Defense Service Examination

Indian Military Academy : A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this examination

Age should be between 19-24 years and relaxation in upper age would not be provided to any category candidates and these norms are announced by Indian Government and Defense Ministry and UPSC board

If you posses above mentioned qualification then you can apply for this examination but before appearing for this examination you should have knowledge about examination pattern for IMA Section

English Language - 100 marks - Objective Type
Elementary Mathematics - 100 marks - Objective Type
General Knowledge - 100 marks - Objective Type

Qualifying in each paper is not compulsory and qualifying in written examination would be done on the basis of the performance of all three papers so that you have to be prepared well for this examination and to get good command over each subject you need to visit some different coaching institutes and find out the best one and start your preparation and you can apply for this examination between these following dates

YES YOU CAN APPLY FOR CDSE AFTER NDA.
The NDA is a entry for the intermediate candidates while CDSE is a entry for the graduate candidates,and neither in the CDSE eligibility criteria nor in the NDA eligibility criteria it is mentioned that someone who has applied for NDA exam is not eligible for applying in the CDSE exam.

This is absolutely wrong concept that,something like this exist.You just full fill the criteria for applying in CDSE and NDA and apply.It will put no effect whether you have earlier applied for any entrance for admission in defence,every entry is irrespective of any other one and has its own set of rules.
