Yes you can take coaching for either IES or IAS. But as Job opportunity is considered i tell you IAS is the most toughest examination of our country but if you are fully dedicated then off course you can make your dream come true.
Hello friend,
both are very prestigious posts for a graduate.
IES stands for Indian Engineering Services .
and
IAS stands for Indian Administrative services
if you wish to go for engineering services than you have to go for IES but if you wish to serve for the nation by doing administrative work so you should apply for the civil services examination and become an IAS officer.
infect IAS is considered as the most respectable job in India,,but it depends on your interests..
here i share a little knowledge about both the examinations:-
Qualification:-
* Graduate with a govt. recognized university.
* must be an Indian.
Age requirements:-
* for general category:- 21-30 yrs.
* for obc category:- 21-33 yrs.
* for sc/st category:- 21-35 yrs.
Attempts :-
for general category:- 4 attempts.
for obc category:- 7 attempts.
for sc/st category:- no restriction.
steps of examination:-
* prelims examination
* mains examination.
* interview.
and now talking about IES EXAMINATION:-
this is conducted by upsc every year.
in this only b.tech holders with four branches can apply.
these branches are:- 1. electrical
2. civil
3. mechanical
4. electronics and telecommunication.
remaining requirements are almost same as described above .
for further details regarding the exams you should visit the official website of upsc:-http://www.upsc.gov.in
Hello my dear Friend ...
I.A.S --- INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICES
I.E.S --- INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICES ...
Both the exams are conducted by the " UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION "
AS PER MY KNOWLEDGE " I.E.S " IS BETTER FOR YOU
BECAUSE FOR I.A.S ... ANY GRADUATE CAN APPLY FOR IT
But for I.E.S there some streams like ...
<> MECHANICAL
<> ELECTRICAL
<> CIVIL
<> ETE ...
only can apply for it
SO THERE WILL BE SOME LESS COMPETITION FOR I.E.S compared to I.A.S
There you can FIND MORE NUMBER OF CHANCES TO GET JOB EASILY ...
So try to go for the I.E.S
VERY GOOD LUCK
both are different different fields you must have to choose the stream in which you are more interested.
from my point of view IES will be the right choice for you because you have done engineering in mechanical stream.
You are eligible for the IES exam for this your age must be lies in between 21-30 years.
And your degree must be from recognized university.
If you want to take coaching for IES then it is a great thinking because it will help you more.

HI
Both IAS and IES are Dead different to each other ,
Its better you to take IES as you have studyed BE MECh ,
Age limits are 21-30,
and your degree is from an recognised university........
you can choose for any of the field of your Interest
IES: Indian engineering services
this field is best for you as you have completed B.E(mech)
you have good scope in IES field.
requirement for IES are:
1. have bachelors degree(b.tech) from streams as listed:
*civil.
*mechanical.
*electrical.
*electronics and communication
2. age limit : 21 - 30 years.
3. candidate must be citizen of INDIA.
Actually this is not a job rather is a service. Answering to your question IES is more suitable for you as you are a Mechanical Engg. And u've studied more about engineering. But IAS is more regarding current affairs and general knowledge which is one of the most high obliged jobs in India.
Hey
First you have to select that in which field you want to go.
Whether you want to go for IAS or IES.
You are eligible for Both the exams.
Your age must be lies in between 21-30 years for the exams.
If you want to join the coaching for these exams then it will give you more help in cracking these exams.
So in my point of view you must have to take the coaching classes for these exam.
Thank you.
