    * Yes, changing prelims to CSAT is a good step taken by UPSC..!

    * The UPSC preliminary exam was changed to CSAT..!

    * CSAT - Civil services Aptitude Test....!

    * Previously it had an optional subject paper...

    * Now in CSAT that paper is replaced by a General Aptitude paper..

    * This test the general mental abilities, logical resoning and thiniking performance of an individual....!

    * It is of objective type...!

    * CSAT now has 2 papers - General studies and current affairs paper and a General Aptitude paper....!

    * Each paper is of 200 marks and duration of 2 hours each....!

    * You need to get a minimum of 50% in the both the papers combined to appear for main exam...!

    * These 2 papers are comparably easy when compared to previously used optional ones....!

    * This is common to all......!

Re: Is changing prelims to CSAT a good step by UPSC?

    dear aspirant,

according to my point of view it is good step taken by UPSC

for changing Prelims exam to CSAT. In CSAT now there is no

optional subjects. where CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude

test. candidates who clear the exam are eligible to apply for Mains

Exam. Marks got in CSAT exam won't carry for another exam Mains

Exam. CSAT is only conducted for checking the eligibility of the

    candidate for the exam.

    Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:

graduation from recognized college or university

    AGE LIMIT:

General Category: 21 to 30 years

OBC Category: 21 to 33 years

    SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

    How To Apply?

you can apply for the exam online on following link:
