    Hello

    For applying in the INDIAN ECONOMIC SERVICE,you need the special educational qualification.

    You must have a post graduate degree in economics/applied economics/econometrics/business economics.

    This is the basic educational requirement for Indian Economic services,so even if you have completed M.COM you are not applicable for the exam.You have to specifically economics post graduate to apply for the exams'.

    Hi

    For Indian Econmics services exam a candiate must be graduate from recognized university in Economics/ Business Economics / Applied
    Economics /Econometrics.

    Yes Commerce(M.Com) students are eligible to apply to UPSC IES Exam.
    IES exam is conducted every year to make recruitments to :
    Indian Economic Services
    Indian Statistical Service

    Eligibility For IES Exams :

    Age Limit :
    General Category-21-30yrs on 1st Jan of the year of exam
    OBC-21-33yrs

    SC/ST-21-35yrs
    Educational Qualifiction :
    For Indian Economic Service Post Graduate Degree from a recognised university in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics.

    For Indian Statistical Service
    Post Grade Degree from an Indian university in Statistics/Applied Statistics/Mathematical Statistics.
    Candidates appearing in qualifying degree exams are also eligible provisionally subject to producing proof of passing along with Detailed Application Form.So you should have M.Com degree in one of the subjects mentioned above to be eligible to apply to IES Exams.

    IES 2013 Exam notification is expected on 17.08.2013 and IES exam will be held on 07.12.2013.

    IES: Indian economic services examination is conducted by UPSC.Commerce students can apply for IES.

    Eligibility:-
    1. Needed a post graduate degree from a recognized University. And the Subject Economics ,applied economics and Business economics.A M.com degree holder is eligible for IES.

    2.Age eligibolity: Gen: 21-30.OBC: 21-33.S/c S/T :21- 35 years

    3.Nationality: Indian.

    4.Male/Female both can apply.

    Eligibility Criteria for UPSC - IES - Indian Economics or Statistical Services

    >> Candidate must have passed his/her master's degree in Economics in any one of the following :

    Economics/Applied Economics/Econometrics/Business Economics

    >> Candidate's age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    >> Candidate must have at least 50% marks in his/her graduation and 45% marks for SC/STs

    >> There is no Economics or relevant subject you have done in your M.Com because it is not in the syllabus so that you are not eligible to apply for this exam

    >> To complete this subject in master's degree you should complete either - MA - Economics or MBA in Economics then you would be eligible for this exam

    >> Date for upcoming IES or ISS Examination 2013 are following as declared by UPSC board :

    Start date for online application : 17-08-2013

    Last date for online application : 16-09-2013

    Date for the IES or ISS Exam : 07-12-2013

    Yes you can apply for this exam because you have master degree in commerce.
    Final year candidates are also eligible for this exam.
    Age limits - 21 to 30 years
    For Obc - 21 to33 years
    For SC/ST - 5 years this means 21 to 35 years.
    Nationality - Indian.
    This exam contain six papers and each is 200 marks.
    Notification of this exam comes on june and conduct on the month of December.

    Hi Aspirant

    Yes you can Apply for Indian Economic Services why not

    if you the qualification that is required for the department than

    you can apply for it no doubt and it does not matter you are a commerce

    student or a arts students the thing is you are filling the criteria that

    are given in the form and in the conditions

    Education :

    The Candidate must be pass in the post graduation degree

    With the Subjects :
    Economics
    Business Economics
    Applied Economics
    Econometrics

    Age :

    The should be between 21-30

    and relaxation for the reserve categories as per the government rules

    3 Years relaxation for the obc and 5 years for the sc,st

    and also for the ph candidates 10 years relaxation given

    Nationality :

    Indian

    Yes offcourse dear an commerce student is eligible for IES exam conducted by UPSC but he should have proper graduate degree from recognised university..................after that he can apply definetly for IES...........................
