Indian P & T Accounts and Finance Services :
This stands for Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts for Finance Service.
This is group A under Central Civil Service of the Government of India. This service started for the administration of the Department of P & T that are the root of the communication sector needs of our country.
After sometime this service got divided into a professional section and recruitment process for all the employees or officers for these departments started through Indian Civil Service examination that is why this department service is listed as the official under Indian Civil Service Examination
If you pass Indian civil service prelims and mains examination then qualify interview so you will be sent for the training at National Academy of Direct Taxes - Nagpur - Maharashtra and you will have to go through a professional training related to Finance and Accounts with Management
After completing this training process, you will be given another training of about one year under National Institute of Communication and Finance and Ghaziabad and after successful completion of the training in these institutes, you will be posted for different ranks as - Assistant Chief Accounts Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer/ Accounts Officer/ Senior Accounts Officer etc. and your responsibilities will be for the entire India under this service and for further improvement in the job or rank or post, you will have to qualify departmental examination and after qualifying that exam, you will be promoted for another senior post
If you want to become an Officer under this department, then you will have to appear for UPSC Indian Civil Service Examination and details about this exam are following :
Preliminary Examination - 2 papers of objective type pattern and each paper contains 200 marks
Mains Examination : 7 Papers of conventional type pattern and qualifying in each paper is mandatory
Paper I - Essay contains 200 marks and section II - English Language contains 100 marks = 300 marks
Paper II, III, IV & V - Conducted only for one subject that is - General Studies as I, II, III & V - 250 marks each
Paper VI & VII - Conducted based on Optional subject selected by the candidate as I & II - 250 marks
You will get the list of all optional subjects in the official notification and you may choose any one subject from that list
Personality Test : 275 marks conducted only after being qualified in mains examination and if you pass this stage too and prefers for Indian Post and Telecommunication Accounts and Finance Services then you will get the job under this department but your selection for the post under this department will be finalized on the basis of your marks scored in examination and interview and on number of vacancies available in that department under your preferred cadre so you have to remember that high scorers are always prefered for every single job
