Geography is not a lengthy subject but it requires good understanding of each and every details.It depends upon you solely as whether you can finish it in 3 months or not.In fact your choice of subject should be made much earlier if you want to qualify in the exam rather than thinking about subject just before prelims.Geography is a preferred subject for CS mains for several candidates as it is already studied for the prelims.You need to check the syllabus and previous year to get a better idea.If you want to compete and qualify then you need to start preparing as soon as possible and with complete detrmination as the competition is very tough and the contents to be covered is huge.

if you call geography as a lengthy subject then what you will call history then?history has some 56 chapters compared to the geography which has only 20 chapters.yes to some extent it is some what lengthy.

if you sincerely study for 5-6 hours daily and consistently then i think you will be able to complete with 3 months.you have decide based upon your interest and capacity

if you can afford to take coaching then you can do so to complete the syllabus fast but enquire about the institutes before you join.if you cannot afford to join some coaching institute make sure you have somebody to help you out if you have some doubt in your studies.without coaching also many people make it

if you work hard in right direction and correct mental framework then it should be possible.after all we dont have any choice so we have to some how manage it.
