It is good that you want to become an IAS officer but it is very hard to reach that position because the exam is very hard and there are lots of candidates applying for the exam so that one need good preparation . As you are currently in 11th so that you have lots of time for preparing the exam , now what you do that is you should read the social science books of std 5-12 of cbse board , improve your maths and english , read the Manorama year book for improving gk , read the magazine to know tha current affairs . So in this stage you should do first this things then doing your graduation you can prepare for the main exam . All The Best

    Dear pal,
    • It is [COLOR="DarkRed"]not that you need to specialise in particular stream to do in the Indian administrative service . You can be either science stream or commerce stream in your higher secondary.
    • Preparation for the exam is simple and do not need any special discipline knowledge even aspirant knowledge in the tenth standard will holds good.
    • For aptitude you require general knowledge and knowledge in english , records, history and geography etc.
    • for the main exam you can choose your own optional papers which could be economics, statistics, commerce in that so that you can secure more marks in the paper which will help you to get good total in the end

    Hi,

Always keep one thing in your mind-

Sharp mind + Concentration + Hard work = Success

The above line sums it all!

You just need to remain focused.
    Keep doing hard work.
Check out the syllabus and work on your weak areas.
Read newspaper and magazines to improve your English!
To make your maths strong, you should do and attempt as many questions as possible!
The more questions you attempt, the better it is for you!
By doing so you come across different varieties of questions that can come in the exam.
And believe me,once you start solving them, you will feel like doing Maths for the whole day.
But proper time management is important.
So its an advantage to you as well!

Even if you devote 3-4 yours for your preparation,it is more than enough!

    Best of Luck!

    Hello

A 11 STANDARD CANDIDATE CAN NOT BECOME A IAS.

The eligibility criteria for applying in the IAS is

~The candidates must have passed the graduation from any stream from a recognized university from any mode of education(distant and regular).
~Age limit-21 to 30 years for general candidate

Dear it's nice to see your interest in civil services and your destination to become an IAS officer in India so that dear i would like to say that you may easily become an IAS officer but you will have to prepare hard for this exam and you should have following eligibility criteria to apply for IAS exam :

A bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible to apply for this exam

Age should be between 21 - 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines which is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

Dear you are pursuing 11th class which is your board classes and it would take complete 4 years for you to be eligible to apply for this exam but only on one condition which is - If you complete your degree from a recognized university so that you should complete your class 11th and 12th first then degree and when you comes in the final year of your degree at that time you may apply for IAS preliminary exam

As for as my views are concerned that you must join any coaching institute to prepare for IAS exam both prelims and mains exam and prepare for this exam with your college study or degree exams but you must concentrate on your class 12th exams and qualify with higher marks then start study for your civil services and if you will provide at least 6 hours everyday for your study apart from degree then you will definitely would be prepared well for your examination and you would be prepared from two years for civil services preliminary exam and in final year of the graduation you must apply for prelims and try to get qualified at once but you should be dedicated to your study only and leave your all luxurious hobbies and care only about your career your future and your life which you have to make in civil services.

    All the best
