yes there is negative marking in both paper of csat. the marking funda of csat are given below

Paper 1:For every correct answer, 2 marks awarded.
For every wrong answer, 2/3 marks will be deducted i.e. one third of mark of a correct answer will be deducted.
simply, for every 3 wrong answers, 2 marks will be deducted.
Paper 2:
for every correct answer 2.5 marks awarded
For every wrong answer,2.5/3 marks will be deducted.
Simply, for every 3 wrong answers, 2.5 marks will be deucted

Yes, there is a introduction of Negative marking system in the civil services. It's applied to the preliminary examination which is of Objective based exam where questions have multiple option. However it's not applied on Main exam which is an subjective based exam. As per the rules, for every wrong answer 1/3 i.e 0.33 marks will be deducted. But however if you does not attend the question, there will be not be a deducation for that question. So, answer only those question in which you are confident about the answer.

As per the examination notification issued a candidate will lose 1/3rd of the marks (0.33) assigned to a question in case it is wrong.
Same rule will be apply if they give more than one answer. However, if the question is left unanswered, there will be no penalty.

So you mind it and give right answer if you give 3 wrong answer than 1 marks deduct from your right answer.
