So, please mention about which examination of UPSC??
Since UPSC is Public service commission which conducts examination on central level
Since you have completed B.Tech so, you may go go for These examinations :
>> Civil services
>> IES
>> IFS
>> Geologist
>> CDS
etc
But to prepare for any examination of UPSC you need to take help of these things :
>> Coaching Institutes
>> G.K books
>> By being updated by using News papers are going through it.

Dear, after completion of BE you have to read regular "Competition Success" Magazine for General Studies. For English, Matric level preparation is sufficient. For Optional Papers, Degree level preparation is sufficient. Don't use many books for reference of a single Topic. Just clear your concept. You can go for coaching. So,..... Good luck.....

- IES
- CDS
- NDA
- SCRA
- IFS
- CPF
- CMS
- Geologist Exam
after that check your eligibility Criteria For the corresponding exam. you can check the eligibility Criteria on UPSC Site:

if you are eligible for the exam then start preparation for the exam.
Tips For Preparation:
- manage your time table.
- start preparation according to the syllabus.
- Concentrate on quality of study.
- Read NCERT books of 6th to 12th class. also MC Graw hill and pearson publication books related to subjects.
- Read news papers and magazines daily.

If you have done degree in engineering then you have many options in UPSC.
you can choose any type of exam conducted by UPSC because you have a bachelor degree.

You can choose any of the exams in the above.
But if you have done B.E then you should go for the IES exams.
ELIGIBILITY FOR THE EXAMS
*You must have bachelor degree
**Atleast 55% marks in graduation
***age should be in between 21-30 years.

I really appreciated that you want to appear in UPSC examination but there are so many exams which UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) conduct many exam and entrance exams as well.
So first please be specific about nature of exam you would like to appear.
Here I am suggesting some books for GK-GS which are common for all competitive examinations:
A) NCERT Social Science books Class 9 and 10
B) CSR for current affairs
C) Manorana Yarly book
D) Mathematics NCERT Books from class 5 to 10 for basic knowledge of concepts.
