How the Entry into Army through TGC differ from CDSE in terms of career?

How the Entry into Army through TGC differ from CDSE in terms of career I would pursue in Army? would I pursue the same course in IMA for both TGC and CDSE?

TGS recruits only in military forces whereas CDSE recruits for IMA, OTA, NAVAL, OTA
CDSE is conducted by UPSC.

CDSE is conducted by UPSC. yuo have to clear written examination before being eligible for SSB.
Through CDSE you can join IMA/OTA/NAVAL ACADEMY.




TGC is a Non UPSC entry Scheme.Through TGC you can join IMA.You don't need to give any extra exam for TGC. JUST fill the TGC form and on the basis of merit you'll be caled for SSB.


As far as its impact on your career is concerned It won't have much of a impact as its your record during your srvice which maters in army.

differnces between two entries are as follows

1. tgc is non-upsc entry while CDSE conducted by UPSC .
2. TGC entry is only for the technical graduates i.e for B-TECH holders in specified branches while UPSC's CDS doesnot restrict any body on the ground of stream of graduation. i.e open to all the graduates.
3. TGC recruits candiates only for INDIAN ARMY while through CDSE you can opt any three armed forces of INDIAN UNION by securing good marks in merit.

4. TGC doesn't conduct any written examination to call for SSB,they just shortlisted engineering graduate ON THE BASIS OF GRADUATION PERCENTAGE WHILE CDSE conducts written examination to shortlist candidate for SSB .

5.major difference is that TGC recruits cadet after successful training as the 'captain' with one year seniority while cdse AS LIUTENIENT.
