    How to be an IPS officer after completing my PG?

    Iam an MBA gradute with finance back ground have 4 years of experience in Investment banking firm. Iam intrestted in IPS. Please guide through me that Am I aligible for IPS at this point? If yes, How can I ? what will be procedure for it?

    * To become a IPS officer a candidate have to qualify an exam conducted by UPSC

    * The eligiblity criteria for IPS exam is that candidate -

    >> must be graduate.
    >> not barred by any law for the time being in force
    >> between 21-30years age (except age relaxation)

    * If you fulfil the above eligibilty criteria you can apply for exam.

    * You can aplly for exam either online or offline.

    * Friend you have financial background with 4 years experience but first of all it is required that you fulfil the above mentioned eligibility criteria and if you fuldil it then you can apply for IPS exam.

    First of all the minimum qualification for the IAS/IPS exam is Graduation. There is no need for waiting for the PG Certificate.

    Indian Police Services i.e. IPS exam is conducted by UPSC every year. You can see the notification on the month of February.

    You can apply online for this exam at www.upsconlin.nic.in. You have to pay only Rs 100/- as the examination fees through Bank Challan.

    The eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC exam is Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

    The Age limit for UPSC exam is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. If you are appearing in 2012 UPSC exam then your age should between 2 August 1982 to 1 August 1991.

    Now we have to tell you something about to prepare for the exam

    There are two written examination for IPS exam. UPSC Prelims exam and UPSC Mains Exam.

    In UPSC Prelims exam you have to face the Objective type questions of General Studies, General English etc. You can see full syllabus given below the link:

    Now For UPSC Mains exam you have to choose the subjects. I suggest you to take Arts Subjects like History, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy etc. If you have good writing skills then you can absolutely Crack the Exam.

    First of all you have to go through the Question Pattern for which exam you want to appear. You can download and print Previous Years Question Papers at www.upsc.gov.in

    NCERT books are best for the basic knowledge because it covers full syllabus of UPSC.

    You can also practice more and more MODEL Question Papers from a sample paper by which you can experience to the Questions coming in UPSC exams.

    Irrespective of the advantage and privilege of your PG and working experience,you are eligible to apply for the CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS CONDUCTED BY THE UPSC,FOR FILLING honourable POSTS such as the IPS.
    You need to be 21-30 years of age,if of general category,to apply for this exams.
    The essential educational qualification is a degree of graduation or equivalent from an UGC recognized university,or being a final year in the same.
    so,you can go ahead to give these exams.

    After completing PG(graduation is only required), you will have to appear for Civil Service Examination conducted by UPSC. thus you can get recruitment to civil services of the Government of India like the IPS.

    How to become IPS Officer -

    To become IPS officer, you need a graduate degree from a recognised university. And you have to appear for UPSC Civil services examination. This examination was conducted by UPSC Two times in a year.

    And Any candidates who have purse a graduate degree examination are eligible to apply for Civil services examination but to appear in this examination your age should between 21 to 30 years. So, If you have passed your 12th examination, then your are not eligible to apply for This examination at this stage. So, i will suggest you please take admission in Bachelor degree course and then you are eligible to apply for Civil services examination to become a IPS officer.

    So , Graduate from any stream are eligible for Civil services examination.

    The Notification are published in the employment Newspaper OR In the official website of UPSC. The examination was divided into 2 stages - Preliminery exam And Main exam.

    Firstly you have to crack the Preliminery exam and then you are eligible for Main examination. Preliminery examination was totally objective type paper. And general candidates will appear 4 times in this examination, The syllabus are availiable in the UPSC Official website, So please visit the UPSC Official website to get compete details regarding Civil services examination.

    Indian Police Service Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission .
    To become an I.P.S. officer you need to clear the preliminary exam , main exam , interview as well as physical fitness test.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:-

    --Bachelor�s degree of a recognized university with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

    -- Age limit is 21-30 years for general category, For SC/ST- 5 years of relaxation is available & For O.B.C. 3 years of upper age relaxation is available.

    --Four attempts for open category, seven for O.B.C. and unlimited for SC/ST candidates.
    If a candidate appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.

    Height � Male 165 cm Pahari Male (general also) & ST (not the SC/ OBC) � 160 cm
    Female 150 cm Pahari Female (general also) & ST (not SC/ OBC)- 145 cm

    Chest � Male Minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
    Female Min 79 cm expansion 5 cm.

    Eye sight � 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good eye. 6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye. Near vision J 1 for good eye. J2 for worst eye. High standard for the Colour-blind test. No inherent night blindness. Vision should stereoscopic.

    Blood pressure (High) � Age 23 � 123, age 24 � 124, age 25 �122, age 28 � 124, age 30 �125, age 32 � 126, age 34 � 127.
    Ladies should not be pregnant at the time of Medical Test.

    Ear- good listening & normal ear cavity. 1000 to 4000 frequency hearing impairment shd not be more than 30 decibels.

    Nasal- candidate should not stammer while speaking.

    eligibily criteria for apply to ips ,
    you should be a citizen of india,
    you should complete your graduation, ur age should be 21 to 30 years for general catogory, 3 yrs relaxation for obcs and 5yrs relaxation for sc/st candidates.
    you will be having 3 phases
    1.preliminary phase: where you will be having 2 papers paper 1 and paper 2
    general studies
    csat (aptittude)
    2.mains :you will have 9 papers each of 100 marks they include,
    any indian language paper
    english
    general studies paper(4 and 5)
    choosen subjects from the give topics(6,7,8,9)
    when you get threw mains also you will be called for interview .after that based n the merit the cders will be allocated.

    you can apply for IPS exam. The the eligibility criteria for IPS is :


    A candidate should have Bachelor degree or post graduation from the recognized University.
    candidate must be an indian citizen
    age limit is 21 year to 30 year

    The examination have three step

    1. prelims exam
    2. main exam
    3. interview


    In the prelims exam the the question are related to general knowledge, Economy, history, Geography.

    in the main exam the the candidates interpersonal skills, reasoning related question , decision making abilities etc are checked

    after clearing the above exam the final round is interview. which is the last step to clear for become an IPS officer.

    ELIGIBILITY FOR IPS
    -Age limit
    Minimum 21 years & Maximum 30 for general category, 33 for OBCs and 35 for SCs/STs.
    -Educational Qualification
    Graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of Central or State legislature in India. Candidates who are in the final semester or have taken their final degree exam but are awaiting the results can also appear.
    -Number of Attempts
    Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs.

    Educational criteria:

    The candidate must have the degree from an recognized university

    In the month of May or June the aspirants have to take the preliminary Exam consisting of two papers

    and the next is Main exam and then interview.

    Guest, you can give IPS exam. For this exam you need to be physically fit with height above 160 cm. You should be graduated from a recognised university to apply for this exam. You can read notifications for this exam on www.upsc.gov.in

    To be an IPS you have to be a graduate from any recognised university and from any faculty .
    So though you are a M.Com you are eligible to appesr for the IPS exam conducted by UPSC.

    For this you have to get through two written exams viz , Preliminary test and Main test .

    Then you also have to face an interview and also physical test .
