I)preliminary exam=its a obective type.those who had cleared this test,would be allowed to appear for civil service main exam
II)MAIN EXAM=consists of
a)paper 1=one of the indian languages must be select by the candidate out of 22 languages ,carries 300 marks
b)paper 2=english=300 marks
c)paper 3=essay in the medium you chosse=200 marks
d)paper 4 & 5=general studies,carries 600 marks
e)paper 6,7,8,9=carries1200 marks.
