A student can appear in exam with minimum age of 21 years and maximum age of 30 years. The age limit is counted on 1 August of the exam year.
If you want to appear in 2012 UPSC exam then you must born between 2 August 1982 and 1 August 1991.

For SC/ST candidates the age relaxation will be 5 years

the attempts for upsc exams varies according to your caste (i.e) whether you are bc , mbc ,sc\st etc.
the general categories have 4 attempts whereas the SC/ST have no limits .
dont forget about the age limit also !!!

U.P.S.C. is a central agency which conducts various examinations.

Cds Exam:-
there is no relaxation for the reserve category. all candidate give the test untill he/she complete the age. cds exam two times held in a year
age limit for the exam:-

Indian Maltery Accedmay age limit is: 19 to 24 Years
For Officer Training Academy age limit: 19 to 25 years
Naval age limit: 19 to 22 years
Indian air force age limit: 19 to 23 years

For ies exam:-

There are certain allocation allotted for certain category candidates for certain exams as regarding the attempts that are allowed.

to apply for upsc exams graduation in any subjects is the main requirement
but there is a restriction for the aspirant on the number of attempt for a upsc exam
for general category aspirants there are only 4 attempts
for obc there are 7 attempts
for sc/st aspirants there is no restriction on the number of attempts
