    Hi Aspirant,

    Friend you can apply for the following UPSC exam organized every year.

    CSE

    IFS

    IES( Indian Engineering Service)


    As a mechanical engineering you are eligible to be appear all the above exam.


    Age criteria

    You should be in age of 21 to 30 years.

    Age relaxation as per government norms

    5 years relaxation in age for SC/ST

    3 years relaxation in age for OBC


    Citizenship

    You must be Indian.


    For the preparation of UPSC exam you must join any good coaching institute so that you could get better guidance.

    You should use NCERT and reference books for the preparation.


    Exam pattern and syllabus CSE

    Prelims ( 400 marks)

    Mains ( 2000 marks)

    Interview ( 300 marks)

    You can prepare for upsc in English if you don't know hindi well. Because there are only two languages in which the question of upsc come. That is English and Hindi. If you are from Tamilnadu then you can join for the coaching institute or prepare in home also.

    First of all you have to prepare for upsc prelim exam. In this the objective type question will be come from G.K. G.S. and English. For current affairs you can see the newschannels for read English Newspapers. Then you have to select subjects in UPSC mains. In upsc mains you can choose Tamil Language as One subject of language paper. Then you can choose for Arts subjects.

    being a mechanical engineer you are fully eligible for upsc exams because all graduates in any field form a recognized university under ugc within the age limit 21-30 years are eligible for upsc exams like cds,civil services etc

    to prepare for upsc exam you have to work really hard on your general knowledge ,english,.
    for improving your i would suggest you to make habit of reading a english news paper daily that will raise the standard of your english along with that it make you up to date about the world .
    magazines like csr are very effective for the preparation of your upsc exam in which the interviews of the successful students are also given in which they tell us how they prepared themself for such a good exams like civil services.
