    I am in 1st year B.A. Can I start preparation for UPSC IPS exam? Suggest few books for same.

    i'm in 1st year b.a now.can i start preparing for ips exams from now?
    can i start preparing for ips from now?which all the books u suggest?

    Dear Friend,

    yes you must start your preparation for IPS as it requires a long deep study of all the subjects. This is the right time to begin.

    You must start from NCERT books which can be downloaded from www.upscportal.com

    You can also find list of books here which must be referres for IPS preparation.

    Also you must read 2-3 daily newspapers.

    AS you are interested for IPS exam you can prepare from now , but as you are now in 1st year you can not apply for this exam .
    for applying you have to be a grdaute or in final year you can apply.

    it is good time to start the preparation of the civil service exam. firstly you select your optional subject and more concentration on the subject other

    than the subject. note down or highlight the point important points.

    other wise you read the ncert books for the general study.

    read the news paper daily for the updation of your knowlege.

    touch with internet.

    read magazines.

    other wise you read the persons publisher books,dinesh publisher book, upkar publisher book.

    that is good books for the knowledge

    best of luck for the future

    this is the best time to start your preparations.
    first collect the whole syllabus.
    for prelims you will have
    English
    Aptitude
    Reasoning
    Gk

    for English refer NCERT books, MADE EASY books.
    for reasoning & aptitude refer R.S.AGARWAL
    for GK refer MANORAMA YEAR BOOK,INDIA YEAR BOOK, MADE EASY, UPSC PORTAL, daily NEWSPAPERS.

    for MAIN exam
    you will have 25 optional papers. select any 2 from that.
    start collecting materials for that papers & study.
    discuss with your friends,senior for doubts in that subjects.

    of course. this is the best time to prepare for IPS examinations.
    as you're a beginner, don't rely on any kind of coaching classes. this is the time where your efficiency of self-study matters the most.
    first start with NCERT books and then furthur your studies referring from books as mentioned in the upsc web portal.
    and most importantly, don't buy current affairs or general studies books now, on the contrary you can purchase them and study in your last year. just read the newspaper everyday.

    YES,this is the right time for you have vast 2years of flat preparation for the mains subject + you can right-now decide two mains subjective optional among your graduation subjects do hardly studied them that will serve you tri-partitate purpose SCORING IN your graduation+prelim's contains 50% of arts stream in general studies + beneficial in mains descriptive also.

    ->> study NCERT books from 6-12 level throughly according to upsc syllabus.
    -->> do read newspaper & improve your english, try to solve modal test papers etc.
    -->>do self-study as you have ample time
    -->> firmly affixed to two optional ,won't change any ways later among from your graduation subjects strictly.
    -->> don't divert in any way & do yoga, balanced diet,sound sleep besides this.
    -->> try to write essay on the various current topics,then do check them from qulaified teacher if teacher not available left them un-touched ,do check them own after few time you own found many mistakes do check them rectified in next writing, IN this way you own prepared yourself.


    on the year of appearing throughly read current affairs of whole year including likes person in newz,awards winner, award description,science & technology,defence,budget etc,.


    books are suggested according to optional if you mentioned.

    so you can visit various upsc portals for the books i.e www.upscportal.

    Basic Eligibility Criteria For IAS:-
    >>You should be citizen of india
    >>You should be complete the Graduation degree in any stream from recognized university and also final year candidate eligible for this examination but one condition you should be submit the course completion certificate to the institution and there is no minimum percentage of mark to require for this examination.
    >>Your age should between 21 to 30 years

    the main eligibility to apply for upsc civil services exam is graduation in any stream .
    but being 1st years student you can start your preparation for the exam right away .
    as the difficulty of the exam is much high than the other upsc exams so good preparation is required .

    for good preparation
    first of all you should check the syllabus of the exam and follow it properly .
    refer previous years examination paper so as to get a basic idea of the exam .
