as you are veterinary Science students so you must choose Animal Husbandry & Veterinary as one of two optional subjects.

Second optional subject is better for from Medical Science and Agriculture.
what the combination of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science is not allowed with Agriculture and Medical Science.

but if you does not choose Animal Husbandry & veterinary as optional subjects then you can choose Medical Science and Agriculture as two optional subjects for Mains exam.

these will be very helpful for you for preparation and Cracking the exam. because these subjects are related to your field and you must have knowledge of these subjects.

There is lot of upsc optional subject.
According to my view,
You must choose those subject combination which is related to veternary science.
In the second way,
You should choose the subject in which you have full knowledge.

try chosing optionals that require lesser time to prepare as veterinary sciences itself is a comprihensive subject. subjects like sociology,, anthropology, etc can do well. if u can avail coaching than any subject like geography, pub add, pol science can be chosen.

my suggession is - first go through syllabus of the subjects and narrow down to the subject you feel comfortable with after discussion with people who took these respective subjects.

i had veterinary science and anthropology as optionals for state psc exam and thank god i cleared it in single attempt.

so it all depends on you !!!!
