Hi Aspirant
Yes you will get the reservation why not
If you are in obc category then you will get the benefit of it
As usually given to the obc category candidates
Relaxation given to you in your age and your marks
As the cut off of the obc is quite low as compare to the general category
Well as the normal age limit is 21-30
But you will be given relaxation of 3 years
As the relaxation given to the obc is 3 years
Also the number attempts is given normally 4 to sit in the exam
But you will get 7 chances to sit in the exam
As per your category you will get benefit in job too
Best of luck
dear friend,
you can take the advantages of OBC category only if your category is listed in central list of OBC .
if your category comes under OBC in the state of Karnataka, but not included in central list of OBC then you can't take advantage as OBC category candidate.
for that visit http://www.ncbc.nic.in/Centrallistifobc.html
Good Luck...........
YES,you are got reservation in the said category of your state but you have to ensure that the authority of your region will able to provide you latest by 2 years certificate in said format by the UPSC for the claim in CENTRAL level i.e in UPSC.
so,first check your certificate by tallying the format of UPSC obc certificate to that one you possesses .
If format is same then it is OK.
otherwise you will be denied of any such reservation.
or do tally with as follows format

Dear Aspirants,
Please note, one cannot claim reservation under OBC category unless and until the caste to which the candidate belongs is listed in Central List of OBC recommended by National Commission for Backward Class (http://ncbc.nic.in/Centrallistifobc.html)
Refer UPSC FAQ: http://www.upsc.gov.in/general/faq.htm
And in your specific case "Reddy" in Karnataka is listed under 3 A backward class category. However the same is not listed in Central OBC List; "Reddy" is not at all listed. Hence this automatically makes your case ineligible to claim relaxation under UPSC.
All the best....
yes dear you will be considered as OBC in upsc also,
as upsc provides age relaxation of 3 years to the candidates who belongs to OBC category,
so you will also get age relaxation of 3 years.
the age limits for the OBC candidates is 21 to 33 years.
for more details regarding upsc exams you can go to official website of upsc ,
www.upsc.gov.in
all the best
Hi friend,
Hope that you are in good health and good state of mind.
Friend, there is NO RESERVATION FOR OBC in UPSC exam in terms of SEAT RESERVATION.
According to UPSC,all the categories are equal and hence they do not have this policy of reserving seats for categories such as SC/ST or OBC.
But yes, there is some amount of relaxation that has been provided in the Age Criteria that one needs to fulfill in order to sit in the exam.
According to the Age criteria:
-->A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st
August, in the year of examination.
-->The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable in the follwing cases:
->Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe: upto a maximum of five years.
->Other Backward Classes: upto a maximum of three years.
->State of Jammu & Kashmir (Domiciled during the period from the 1st January, 1980 to 31st December,
1989): upto a maximum of five years.
->Defence Services personnel : upto a maximum of five years.
So keep working hard and burn your night lamps.
Hard work is the only key to success!
Bye
