First of all to become an IPS officer you have to write Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC every year.
to appear in Civil Services exam you have to complete graduation
in any discipline from recognized college or university with any percentage.
So you can definitely apply for Civil Services exam after completing graduation with 55% marks. and don't worry , you need to just concentrate on preparation for the exam.
Civil Services exam constitutes three parts:

for appearing in exam you have to fulfill some other requirement like:

Yes you can eligible to apply for UPSC - IPS - Indian Police Service post :
Educational Qualification : If you have a bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 50% marks or any other equivalent qualification from a recognized university then you are eligible according to educational qualification.
Age Limit : If your age is between 21-30 years then you are eligible in age and if you belongs to reserved category then you may get upper age relaxation in age as per government standards which would be about 5 years for SC/STs and 3 years for OBC category candidates.
Physical Standards is Mandatory for selection:
Height - Male - 165 cm for general candidates and 160 for reserved category candidates
Height - Female - 150 cm and 145 for reserved category candidates
Chest - Male - Minimum 84 cm and expansion of minimum 5 cm
