Correction of vision by LASIK EYE surgery is considered as disqualification for Railway ENgineering services. Permitted correction for conforming to prescribed visual standards is by spectacles only.
So you are not eligible for Railway Engineering services.
However you are eligible for other services/posts offered in IES
1) central Engineering service
2) central Electrical and mechanical Engineering service
3) central water Engineering service etc
YOu will clear Medical test for IES for posts other than Railway Engineering service.

Yes friend, you can clear the Medical test for IES exam after lasik surgery.


You should be only fulfilling the eye criteria of IES exam in medical test.

If you fulfill the mentioned Eye criteria, then you will qualify for the IES exam.

Apart from this you should be physically and mentally fit to qualify UPSC IES exam.
