Re: Is knock knee a criteria for being included in the category of Physically handicapped for UPSC Civil Services Exam?

The vacancies are reserved for Physically Handicap Persons in UPSC. The physically disabled persons should have disability of Forty per cent (40%) or more.

The physical requirement for the Students are: 1.Work performed by manipulating (with Fingers),

    2. Work performed by pulling & pushing

    3. Work performed by lifting

    4. Work performed by kneeling and crouching

    5. Work performed by bending

    6. Work performed by sitting (on bench or chair)

    8. Work performed by walking

    9. Work performed by seeing

    10. Work performed by hearing/speaking

Now the Functional classification for the candidates like you are follows:----

    1. both legs affected but not arms(code BL)

    2. both arms affected a. impaired reach b. weakness of grip.(code BA)

    3. both legs and both arms affected.(code BLA)

    4. one leg affected (R or L)(code OL)

    5. one arm affected (R or L)(code OA)

Re: Is knock knee a criteria for being included in the category of Physically handicapped for UPSC Civil Services Exam?

Dear, Sorry to say that "KNOCK-KNEE" persons are actually not fit for the jobs belongs to FORCE such as CPF (AC) , NDA, CDS, IPS etc., but they are also not categorized as Physically Challenged or Handicapped by the UPSC. Handicapped / Physically Challenged is based on the percentage of a persons inability to do his daily basic works. Since, "KNOCK-KNEE" personnel's are able to do their daily jobs as usual without any challenge, so they are not Physically Handicapped. Good Luck...
