The exam for the post of IAS is conducted through the Civil Service Exam.
Civil Service Exam is conducted once in a year for the most reputed job of India like IAS, IPS or IRS.
In this year UPSC is going to release the notification for Civil Service exam soon.
Important dates for CSE
Notification date: 2/2/2013
Last date of application form: 4/3/2013
Prelims exam date: 19/5/2013
Mains exam date: 8/11/2013
UPSC will publish the notification in employment newspaper as well as its official website.
Candidates who are willing to apply for civil exam can download the notification for civil service exam.
Before filling up the application form you must read the notification very carefully.
Candidates can apply for the CSE in two modes
Online application form
Offline application form
Online application process can be completed at UPSC official registration website

Here you can complete application form in simple two parts. In first part you will fill the basic details and in second part you will make payment, upload your photo and signature.
Offline application can be purchased from nearest head post office.

IAS exam is also known as CSAT exam this exam is conducted by UPSC once in a year.
CSAT exam have three stage
1 prelims
2 mains
3 interview
prelim exam are the basic exam then 2nd satge is mains exam only prelim cleared candidate are eligible
3rd And last stage is Interview, only those candidate who qualified prelim and ,main both the exam

You should visit at - www.upsc.gov.in when the application starts then click at - UPSC Online Applications then click at - Online application of various UPSC examination and you would see a new page then click at - Part I - Registration click here and you would get the application form in next page and you should fill that application form accurately and click at continue at the last and when you would click so that you would get your registration no. and before that you would have to pay the fee for exam through online mode and if you want to pay the fee through offline mode then you would have to download the challan form then copy your registration no. and click at part II registration then enter your registration no. and date of birth and upload your photograph and signature in scanned image then click at submit and print your application from.

I am keeping watch on the UPSC official website for the notification date for the CSAT prelim exams from 2nd Feb 2013
But still it is showing that they will inform the revised notification date in due corse of time.
Can you please help me in getting the information when we can have a date for filling the form so that i can appear in this years prelim exam

Friend, the last of filling the IAS-2013 form is 04-03-2013 and the date of the exam is 19-05-2013.
Have you qualified for UPSC Prelims 2013 exam, then you have to apply through online for Mains exam.
Online filing of Mains Forms date - Aug 20 to Sep 10.
The mains examination is scheduled to begin on December 1, 2013.
If you haven't applied for the Prelims 2013 exam only, then you have to wait for the next notification of UPSC for prelims exam which is expected to be conducted on 24th August, 2013, for which the notification is expected to be out on 17th May 2014.

the notification for the form was out on the 2nd February 2013 and the last date to fill up the form was 4th april 2013
the examination (prelims) was conducted on the 26th may 2013 and the mains exam would be held on 11th November 2013.
