Notification of the indian administrative services exam is published in the month of november and december and the exams are conducted in the month of may .If you like to apply for the same then you need to keep an eye on the official website of upsc www.upsc.gov.in as the notification are released in the same.You can see the eligibility criteria of the examination before you apply for the exam.You must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent to the graduate level course.Your age should be 21 to 30 years of age.First of all you need to give the examination that will be the prelims CSAT known as civil services aptitude test.There will be 2 papers Paper 1 of 200 marks general studies.paper 2 of 200 marks general studies. total marks for the CSAT will be 400 marks.After qualifying the same you need to go for the mains exam.CS MAINS-in paper 1 you need to select the language that you want choose from the 18 languages and the paper will consist of 300 marks for the same.Paper 2 will include english section it will be the qualifying paper of 300 marks.Paper 3 will include essay of 200 marks.paper 4 and 5 will carry 300 marks each and this will be the general studies paper.PAper 6 to 9 you need to choose any two subjects from the optional subjects given in the notification.These 25 subjects are as follows. The Civil Service (IAS/IPS/IFS) examination is initiated in a common platform.
And that is called the Civil Service Admission Test(CSAT).
It's notification is out in the month of November/December & the examination of the same is held in the may month of the next year.
So, You have to wait few months to get the notifications in your hand.
Therefore keep your eyes open in the said months on any of the leading newspapers. As soon as you get it don't waste time to fill it up.

UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exams are held in the month of May each year

for the post of IAS you have to apply for UPSC Civil Services exam.
for Civil Services exam you must have completed graduation degree from recognized college or university. final year candidates can also apply. and your age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation in upper age limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/St candidates.
Civil Services exam is followed by Three phases named as Prelims(CSAT), Mains and Interview.
