Re: Are pharma graduates eligible for Civil Services Exam? Can a B.Pharm student appear in IAS exam? Which subject can a B.Pharm graduate choose for IAS mains exam?

Solution of your Question I :

Dear you are 100% eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Service Examination if you have completed B.Pharm from a reputed institute or university because B.Pharm is considered equivalent as graduation but should be completed from a recognized institute

Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years to apply for this test and if you belongs to SC or ST or OBC then you can claim for upper age relaxation in age after crossing 30 years of age and that will be provided to you as per government norms - 3 years for OBCs and 5 years for SC/STs

Solution of your Question II :

When you are eligible then you can definitely apply for this examination but read all the instructions and eligibilities before applying for examination and read complete notification of exam then only you should proceed further to apply for this examination

Solution of your Question III :

In preliminary examination, you have to score passing marks from two different objective type papers which are - General Studies - 200 marks and CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test - 200 marks and if you could not pass then you will not be eligible for main examination

Main Examination carries 7 conventional type papers which are following as :

Paper I - Section I for Essay contains 200 marks and Section II is for English comprehension contains 100 marks where passing in both sections is mandatory = 300 marks

Paper II, III, IV and V are covered by Various parts of General Studies and each paper contains 250 marks

Paper VI and VII are based on the optional subject that you will select from your application form of main exam and list of optional subjects is following

    Agriculture
    Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
    Anthropology
    Botany
    Chemistry
    Civil Engineering
