    Complete Procedure to Become an IAS Officer in India :

    Dear IAS Stands for Indian Administrative Service that is a post and considered as the highest post in India. UPSC board conduct Indian civil service examination once in a year in two different sections and all those candidates who qualify this test and all other further steps, becomes IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. so you also have to appear for that examination and then you will become an IAS Officer and all mandatory steps are following as :

    Eligibility Criteria : Before applying for this exam, you must be graduate from a recognized university and final year pursuing candidates are also eligible.

    Your age should not be less than 21 years and more than 30 years and relaxation in upper age as per government guidelines that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category candidates

    Examination and Selection Procedure :

    Preliminary Examination : This will be your first test where you have to appear for - General Studies and CSAT paper, each paper contains 200 marks and all questions will be asked in objective type pattern, qualifying in this test is most compulsory to be eligible for mains exam, means if you could not qualify this test, then you will not be considered as eligible for mains examination

    Mains Examination : This test contains 7 conventional type papers and qualifying in each paper is mandatory and you will be offered to select any one optional subject because there will be two papers conducted on the basis of your selected one paper and list will be provided in notification and all papers of this section are listed :

    Paper I - Essay - 200 marks, English Language and Comprehension - 100 marks

    Paper II, III, IV, & V - General Studies- I, II, III and IV - 250 marks each paper

    Paper VI - Optional Subject Paper I - 250 marks

    Paper VII - Optional Subject Paper II - 250 marks

    List of optional subjects to select any one subject for mains exam - two papers

    Interview Process/Personality Test - 275 marks : Only after qualifying mains examination

    If you qualify interview process also then you will become an IAS Officer but you final selection for any particular post will be done on the basis of your rank scored and then you will be sent for training of two years period and you will have to complete your training within two years and if you got failed in training test then one more year will be provided to you to complete your training and after that you will be posted to serve the country according to your selected cadre

    Another way to become IAS Officer : Dear there is one more way to become an IAS officer that is through state service commission examination means you have to appear for State Service examination and if you qualify then you will be posted to serve under state and UPSC board will see your work and service record after some years and if your service found unblemished and better than all other officers selected with you then you will get promotion and you will become IAS Officer through promotion and most chances are there after getting Deputy Collector post from state service commission examination

    This year's Civil Service Preliminary Examination has been conducted at 26th May 2013 and mains exam will be conducted at 1st October 2013 so you need to prepare for next year's civil service examination and you have one more year to prepare so you must join any good coaching institute and begin your preparation to get selected and become IAS Officer

    You need to be eligible for it and the eligibility is;
    one have done graduation and age limit is 21-30 yrs.

    Then you can apply after notification and clear the entire procedure.

    civil service is one of the prestigious exam conducted by UPSC for recruitment to various All India Services. IAS is one of them.


    Eligibility for IAS:

    Only a Graduate degree from a university recognised under the UGC Act and minimum age of 21 years with 30 years as the upper age limit. You can appear for the IAS exam a maximum of 4 times until the age of 30. Various relaxations in the age limit and number of attempts are available for candidates from weaker sections.

    To make your dream come reality you have to crack civil services examination.You have to plan meticulously and implement those plans.First get introduced with syllabus and examination pattern.Most importantly. Choose your optional wisely.I am giving brief introduction about examination

    Paper I of preliminary examination consists of following syllabus
    1)Current events of national and international importance.
    2)History of India and Indian National Movement.
    3)Indian and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
    4)Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
