Engineers from following streams are eligible for UPSC exam ie IES-

    mechanical engineering

    civil engineering

    electrical engineering

    electronics and communication engineering

As you are from production engineering so i think you are not eligible for IES.

    Hi Dear

Yes!! Production Engineers are eligible for Engineering Services Examination conducted by UPSC.

But you have to keep in mind that production engineering is not a subject for the Exam.

You will have to choose a subject for exam from following list:-

    MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
    CIVIL ENGINEERING
    ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
    ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

So you should first choose a subject from the above list which suits you.
I will suggest Mechanical Engg. for you as it has some common topics with production engineering.

    Good luck.
