    In order to become IPS Officer, you will have to crack CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION being conducted by UPSC every year.

    The complete selection procedure for this is by
    -Civil Services Aptitude Test
    -Civil Services Main Examination
    -Interview

    Following combinations of subjects ARE NOT ALLOWED IN Civil services exam:�
    (a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration;
    (b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management;
    (c) Anthropology and Sociology;
    (d) Mathematics and Statistics;
    (e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Science.
    (f) Management and Public Administration;
    (g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering�not more than one subject.
    (h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.


    You can choose any subject as optional according to your comfortable.
    You must be confident about the subject.
    If you have basic knowledge then it will be better for you to get a grip on the subject & score well.


    ELIGIBILITY FOR IPS:

    Academic Qualification:
    -One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
    -Candidates who have appeared for final year exams of Graduation course and waiting for the result can also apply for this Exam.

    Age criteria:
    -One should be in the age group of 21-30 years to be eligible for this Exam.
    -Relaxation is there in upper age limit upto 3 years for the candidates of OBC category and upto 5 years for the candidates of SC/ST category.

    here you did not mentioned your subjects which was in your graduation ,

    but here i want to give you advice that you should take the subjects in mains examination which was in your graduation .


    but if you want to change it than there is so many choices for you here.

    here are the list of all the subjects which you can take as your main(optional) subjects.

    Optional Subjects for the Main Examination:

    Optional subjects:

    Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil
    Engineering, Commerce and Accountancy, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology,
    History, Law, Management, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Medical Science, Philosophy,
    Physics, Political Science and International Relations, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology,
    Statistics, Zoology.

    Literatures:

    Arabic, Assamese, Bengali, Chinese, English, French, German, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri,
    Konkani, Marathi, Malayalam, Manipuri, Nepali, Oriya, Pali, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, Sanskrit, Sindhi,
    Tamil, Telugu, Urdu.
    The following combinations not allowed are:
    Political Science & International
    Relations and Public Administration
    Commerce and Management
    Anthropology and Sociology
    Maths and Statistics
    Agriculture and Animal Husbandry
    and Veterinary Science

    Animal Husbandry & Veterinary
    Science and Medical Science
    Any two branches of engineering.
    Combination of two literatures in
    the above list.

    Hi Aspirant,


    IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

    UPSC conducts the exam of Civil Service for the recruitment of post IPS.

    This exam is conducted once in a year.

    CSE is the most reputed exam of India and lots of candidates apply for civil exam every year.

    Therefore competition will be highly tough.


    Exam pattern for Civil exam

    Preliminary exam ( 400 marks)

    Mains exam (2000 makrs)

    Interview (300 marks)


    Prelims exam consists the two papers of general study and general English.

    Mains exam consists of 9 paper, in which 4 paper are of option subject.

    Study should opt the optional subject very carefully.

    You should choose the option subject of your desired and according to your interest.

    You can choose those subject which are most familiar for you and easy for preparation.

    You can choose the subject related to your graduation subject.

    Hey friend,

    IPS is a Indian Civil Service exam and is conducted for candidates to join in for the post of IPS Officer.

    This exam is being carried out by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) and is held every year.
