    The Exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) in the month of June .
    There are objective as well as subjective papers. One paper for GS (General Studies) is part of the assessment system apart from the engineering subject of the candidate. The entire technical subject is divided into two papers (PAPER 1 and PAPER 2). There is a three day schedule of the written examination, comprising in all five written examination.

    The first day is allocated for the General Studies (GS) paper. This exam is of 2 hrs duration. On the first day there is just one exam. This exam consists of General studies and General English.Paper is maximum of 200 marks
    The second day is allocated for the Objective Papers. There are two objective exams for each paper separately and each being of 2 hrs in duration. Each Paper is maximum of 200 marks
    The third day is allocated for the Conventional (Subjective) Papers. There are two subjective exams for each paper separately and each being of 3 hrs in duration. Each Paper is maximum of 200 marks
    the subjective answer sheets of a candidate are evaluated only once he qualifies the objective examinations.

    Yes there is a UPSC exam for Engineers name IES exam i.e. Engineering Services Examination. There is four category for this examination :--
    Category I�Civil Engineering.
    Category II�Mecahnical Engineering.
    Category III�Electrical Engineering.
    Category IV�Electronics & Telecommunication
    Engineering.

    You can find the different job like i) Indian Railway Service of Engineers.
    (ii) Indian Railway Stores Services (Civil
    Engineering Posts).
    (iii) Central Engineering Service.
    (iv) Indian Defence Service of Engineers etc.

    Indian Engineering Service (IES) examination
    Educational Qualification =
    Degree in any one of the following branch of the engineering.

    Electronics & Communication Engineering.
    Electrical Engineering.
    Civil Engineering.
    Mechanical Engineering.

    OR equivalent degree from a recognize University.

    Msc degree equivalent with wireless communication, electronics, radio physics or radio engineering as a special subject.


    Age Limit =
    The age must be between 21 to 30 years at the time of appearing of this examination. The age relaxation is also applicable for the reservation category candidates.

    This is the basic eligibility criteria for the IES examination. If you satisfy the above eligibility criteria then you will be eligible for the IES examination.     hey
    there is an exam known as IES conducted by UPSC
    for which only engineers are eligible.
    but cs and it engineers are not eligible for this.
    for this the brach eligible are :
    mechanical
    electronics and communication
    EEE
    civil
    for more information about this exams you may visit upsc.gov.nic.in
    other than this there are some exams for which engineer are eligible and they are also conducted by upsc:
    CDS
    CPF
    civil service exam
    for these exam cs and it engineers are also eligible.
    for these exams also you may apply in your final year or after your graduation.

    a person must have a g=degree of civil/mechanical/electrical

    UPSC conducts Indian Engineering Services examination for engineers in Electrical,Mechanical,Electronics & Telecommunication and Civil streams.You have to be a full-time engg graduate(or in the fianl year of engg) and aged between 21-30yrs to apply for this exam.Chances of appearing :

    General : 4
    OBC : 7
    SC/STs : No limit

    HELLO,friend for engineers in field of upsc ies exam is best.IES stands for indian engineering services.@eligibility-for IES exams candidate must have engineering degree .from any branch of engineering such that electronics, etc, mechanical .@age limit- for that exams candidate must not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years.good luck!

    -YES,there exists an exam in particular,conducted by the UPSC for the Engineers.The name of this examination is INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE exams.
    -This exam is conducted in the month of June for a period of three days,as in this year,it is scheduled to be conducted on the 15th June,2012.
    -The complete eligibility requirements of the IES exams are listed below-
    [01] NATIONALITY.
    You must be a citizen of India,
    or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
    or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India before 1962.
    [02] AGE LIMIT.
    You must be 21 To 30 Years of age.
    However,the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 Years for SC/ST and ex-servicemen & by 3 Years for OBC and Physically Disabled,according to Government norms.
    [03] EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS.
    You must hold a degree of Engineering,or be a final year student in the same,From a recognized university.

    to apply for Central Police Forces Examination (CPF)
    # you need have graduation or engineering degree from a recognized institute under ugc.

    #you age should be 20-25 years as on 1st August of the year of examination.Certain categories including departmental candidates are eligible for age relaxation.

    #Candidates appearing in the degree exam are allowed to appear at the exam but are required to submit proof of passing along with the Detailed Application Forms which are to be submitted after qualifying the written test, medical standards test and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET).

    #Both Males and Females are eligible for CISF and CRPF. For SSB, BSF and ITBP only Male candidates are eligible.

    IES Eligibility Criteria

    Educational Qualifications :

    Degree in :
    � Electrical Engineering
    � Electronics & Communications Engineering
    � Civil Engineering
    � Mechanical Engineering
    or equivalent degree from recognized universities.

    � M.Sc. degree or equivalent with Wireless Communication, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject is also acceptable for certain posts.
    � Students of final year Engineering or equivalent degree are also eligible.

    Age Limits :

    Not less than 21 years and not more than 30 years as on August 1st on year of conduct of examination ( upper age limit relaxable for SCs/STs,OBCs and certain others )

    How to Apply : UPSC applications are available for Rs. 20/- at notified post offices all over the country. Rs. 100/- (rupees one hundred only) through central Recruitment Fee Stamp only shall be attached. There is a fee exemption for SC/ST/Female/PH candidates. Please mark exam code as ENGG and not as IES. IES means Indian Economic service. Be careful in this aspect.

    Last date for application : Usually in the first week of March in year of conduct of examination (offline)
