for IAS post you have to apply for Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC every year.for Civil Services Exam you have to complete graduation in any stream with any subjects.
according to me if you concentrate on basics concepts and preparing well for your BA and manage time for both BA and Civil Services Exam, then it should not affect your preparation. As your Subjects of BA like History and Geography are also equally important in Civil Services.
Eligibility Criteria For Civil Services:
>>you must have completed or appearing in final year of graduation.
>>your age must be within 21 years to 30 years on 1 August of the year of exam. there is relaxation in upper age limit up to 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
Limit Number Of Attempts:
>>General category: 4 attempts
>>OBC category: 7 attempts
>>SC/ST category: No Limit

there is no difficulties in it. it depends upon ur hard work and concentration.
I don't feel as such any difficulties you will face and you are doing BA in private mode so it good you can easily prepare for your IAS exam.
I don't think you have to face any difficulties and moreover you are doing BA in private mode so you are free enough to prepare well for the exam...
