Educational Qualifications:
Graduate or Bachelor degree from any recognized degree.
You should have any one subject from following list:
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
Botany
Chemistry
Geology
Mathematics
Physics
Statistics
Zoology
or
Bachelor degree from Engineering, Agriculture, forestry or equivalent degree

UPSC conducts the Civil Services Exam(CSE) every year to make recruitments to various posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,etc.
CSE is conducted in 3 stages :
-Prelims/CSAT Exam-Civil services aptitude test is conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam.
It consists of 2 papers of General studies of total 400 marks
-Mains Exam-is conducted to check the intellegence and indepth knowledge of the candidates.
Choice of two optional subjects have to be made.Total weightage is 2000 marks and consists of 9 papers.
-Interviews-is the test of personality of the candidates.Total marks for interviews is 300 marks.Clear it to
get a good rank in the final merit list and become an IAS Officer.
