    UPSC conducts the Civil Services exams every year to make

    recruitments to
    24 services/posts.

    Top Rankers
    get the posts like Indian Administrative Services

    (IAS),Indian Police Services(IPS)

    and Indian Foriegn Services(IFS).

    Some of the Other Services/posts to which recruitments are made through Civil Services exams:

    Indian Revenue Services
    Indian Postal Services
    Indian Audit and Accounts Services
    Indian Ordnance Factories Services
    Indian Corporate Law Service
    Indian Railways Personnel Service


    The number of vacancies to which postings are made changes every year.

    Reservations
    are made for OBC/SC/ST/PH candidates inrespect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Govt.

    UPSC: Stands for the Union Public Service Commission

    They are conducting the exam civil services exam

    Every year and recruiting the person for the job of IAS And IPS

    And after clearing the job you will get the job of IAS Officer

    As the answer for your question and very much and senior reputed

    IAS Officer will be promoted to some of very much higher post

    If his record is very good

    Age:

    -For the exam the age should be 21-30

    -But for the ph category 21-40

    -And for the obc 21-33

    -And for the sc,st it should be between 21 to 35


    Education:

    -The Candidate should be pass in graduation degree

    -The Candidate should be pass from a recognized university


    Citizen:

    -The Person must be a Indian

    IAS EXAM STAND FOR INDIAN ADMINISTRITIVE SERVICE EXAM WHICH IS CONDUCTED BY UPSC TWICE IN A YEAR

    AS you are interested for IAS exam for this you have to appear for Civil Service Exam .
    The eligibility criteria for Civil Service Exam:

    Age Limit:

    A general category candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August 2012

    upper age limit relaxable for SCs, STs, OBCs .

    Education Qualification:

    The candidates should be a graduate in any discipline from a recognize university.

    Number of attempts permitted:

    For General Category - 4

    For OBC - 7

    For SC & ST - No Limit


    IAS Exam has three stages Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and an Interview
