    What is the step by step procedure to become a collector after B.E?

    i m doing B.E. 2nd year
    i want the power of collector
    wat steps would i hv to face after sbmit the form of upsc exams til i bcome the collctor??

    Indian Administrative Services i.e. IAS and Indian Police Services i.e. IPS exams are conducted by UPSC.

    You can apply online for these examinations at www.upsconline.nic.in

    The eligibility criteria for appearing in UPSC exam is Graduation in any stream from a recognized university.

    The Age limit for UPSC exam is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. If you are appearing in 2012 UPSC exam then your age should between 2 August 1982 to 1 August 1991.

    There is five years relaxation for the SC/ST candidates.

    There are two types of written examination in UPSC.

    UPSC Prelim exam and UPSC Mains exam. You will appear in UPSC Prelim exam first in which Objective type Questions are asked from General English, General Studies etc.

    For UPSC Mains you have to choose Subjects. There are total 51 Optional Subjects in which 23 are from main subjects and 28 Language Subjects like Hindi, English, Bengali etc.

    currently you are in the 2nd year so that you are not eligible for the exam .
    You have to complete your graduation first or in the final year also you can apply for the exam .
    You have to face following exams before to become a collector .
    1) Preliminary Exam
    In this exam there are two papers of objective type and you have to pass all the papers to qualify for the next round .
    2) Main exam
    selected candidates will appear for the main exam .
    Main exam consists 9 descriptive type paper
    1-Any language
    2-english
    3-essay
    4&5-general study
    6&7-optional subject-1
    8&9-optional subject-2
    The first two papers marks are not considered but one should pass this two paper compulsory .
    3) Interview
    Selected candidates after the main exam will face on interview .
    The final selection will be based on the marks available in the Main exam plus interview together .
    These are the steps you have to follow to become a collector .
