Dear friend ,
the procedure to become a collector is almost same as to become an ias officer .
But the difference is that to become a collector you have to apply for the particular state ,
at first you ave to apply for state administrative services examination like if you want to become a collector in rajasthan than you have to apply for ras examination which is stands for 'rajasthan administrative services'
in the exam procedure there are also three steps .
1. Written examination :- (prelims-objective)
2. Written examination :- ( mains - descriptive)
3. Personal interview:- vocal.
Also there are the age criteria and a restriction of no of attempts , which is same as civil services examination in almost all the states but there are a few states where it is not same as civil services examination .
Like in uttar pradesh recently the akhilesh govt. Decided to take an increment in age critera which is exapandede to 40 years.
So it is depend on the govt of the states .
Thank you ,
wishing you a good luck for future .
