Ancient and Medieval History: NCERT text books of class VIII to X

General Science: NCERT text books of class IX and X

Geography: NCERT text books class XI and XII + a good Atlas +Certificate Course in Physical Geography by Goh Cheng Leong

Indian Economy: Spectrum's books on Economy + Economic Survey for figures and analysis

Current Affairs: Manorama Year Book + The Hindu newspaper + a good magazine like Civil Services Chronicle

Polity: Our Constitution by Subhash Kashyap + bare constitution containing just the articles

Friend IPS is not an exam, it is post.

IPS stands for Indian Police Service.

UPSC recruits the candidates for the IPS post through Civil Service exam.

In this year CSE is in process mains exam has been conducted successfully.

And mains exam will be held in October.

So you can apply for ssc.

After M. SC. From statistics you are eligible to apply for CSE exam.


Qualificatin for civil exam

You should be graduated in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent

Age should be 21 to 30 years

Age relaxation to eligible category as per government norms

You must be Indian.


Statics is in the list of optional subject for mains exam, so you can choose statics and one other subject of your desire as optional subject.

UPSC release the notification for CSE exam around the December.

The notification will be update on UPSC official website as well as employment.

IPS Is second most reputed post of the country after Ias

And to become a Ips officer you have to write the

Civil services exam under which this post comes

So you have to start preparing for it and the next cse exam

Will be going to held in 2013 as this year it was already taken

And the notification will come in around in the month of feb. and exam

Will be in either may or will be in june

As you know the posts are selected and students number is very much high

Who are appearing in the exam so you really need to work very much hard

And you have to study at least 14 hours a day in true sense

The candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized University

Final year candidates are also eligible for the exam
