Hi Devi,
well, you can fulfill your wish with strong will power and self confidence. For applying IAS, firstly you need to fill application form, so the exam procedure is as follows,
step1reliminary Test, consists of objective type questions. you should pass this test then only you can go to next step.
step2:Main exam, it is a written test, the exam will be on those subjects which you chosen at the time of filling the form. After clearing this test you will be having interview round.
step3:Interview round, they will call you for interview if you clear this round then they will give you a call letter.
Now, for selecting optional subjects for IAS, you should choose your 1st optional subject as your main area of study. and 2nd is check out your area of interest, like test yourself, pick up any basic book of the subject and read the first chapter, then see.. are you keen to read the next chapter? if yes, then think how much do you recall of what you read?.. these questionnaires points will help you for choosing second optional subject.
